User Reviews about Camp Chef Mountain Series 3 Burner Camping Stove
I have to say, all in all, this is a great stove!!! I've owned a coleman two burner that I had to retire and wanted something a little sleeker with more bells and whistles. Voila! Camp chef takes the stage. The outer burners are great, but I kind of wish that the center grill had just a little more BTU output. It made it slightly difficult to cook shish kebabs properly. I'm sure if I was cooking hot dogs or hamburgers, the center grill would have done fine otherwise.
At first glance, the only thing flimsy about this product is the gauge of the hood/door and the side wind reflectors, but it does make the stove a little lighter and honestly, how stiff do you really need them to be. As long as they get the job done and it doesn't fall apart, I'm happy. The hardware and the latches seemed to be of good construction and quality and the main portion/body of the stove is built quite well. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product and have already! -- Not too shabby!!
I ordered this camp stove because it seemed to have a cool feature set and looked sturdy enough. Unfortunately, when I got it I was a little disappointed. Out of the box the lid was stuck hard in the closed position. I had to pry with a screwdriver to open it. It looked like the right clasp was positioned to low so when it was locked down it pulled the lid to far down and thus popped the lid over the frame.
Once open, the grill looks nice. There were easy to reach drip trays that would be easy to clean. The grill in the middle was a cool feature b/c here in CA we're often prohibited from campfires. The knobs rotate well and I liked the fact that it can produce 12,000 btu's of heat from each side.
The side wind screens didn't lock in place well. In fact, the left side wouldn't stay at all as the top was warped such that no pressure was put on the side screen (the top has to hang back in order to engage the locking feature of the side screen). The slightest touch would knock the left side down.
The two steel grates over each side burner were also disappointing. Neither sat flat on the frame. They rocked about 1/4". That's significant when you have a pot of water on there! Most camp stoves grates have a small amount of rocking but these were quite a bit.
Fix these features and I'd buy this stove, but for now I'm returning to Amazon. -- Cool idea but quality is lacking

I have tried all of the different camping stoves, from cheap singles to the old coleman green box stoves.
The same thing always comes up, MORE heat needed and more stability.
This stove has both, the burners are a nice 12,000 BTU so you can heat up a family size portion.
the flame is a nice ball of heat with a light blue tint. (white flame will black your pans!)
First thing I noticed is the Side holders are bent out a little bit, this will make it easier to put a larger pot and keep your wind protection.
The knobs are very easy to adjust and of most important "Matchless" lighting is always much easier.
More Observations: Box is nice quality so I will likely store my stove in the box, it also has a couple of recipes on the side.
I checked into an adapter for using this with a bulk tank, YES it is possible it just hooks onto the end where you would put on a disposable bottle. My first reaction was it would be better to hook into the stove, after further review, having both options is always the best, (I would loose the disposable bottle arm)
For the price this is available this is the best deal in town, the other model with the bigger side griddle
Camp Chef Mountain Series Grill and Portable Camp Stove at the time of this writing was $20 more.
In this video Steve is showing some of the features and benefits. I will try and take a picture of the box.
This is also a great stove for power outages, it is so simple.
-- High output family camping product!
